A damage is a violation of the interests of a physical or a legal entity. That damage can take different forms. It can hit the person in his state of mind or hit the person physically in its heritage, straight (material damage) or indirectly (non-material damage: loss of an opportunity, profit, clientele 's). Here is one on the pure non-material damage: the damage that is not due to a physical or material damage. (This is in contrast to the consequential non-material damages.)
